Clean Smart team

The first clean is when your cleaner learns how your home is laid out and what matters most to you. A little preparation before the day makes that visit more useful, and more of your time goes into cleaning rather than moving things out of the way.

What to do before your first clean

Clear the surfaces you want cleaned. Benchtops, bathroom vanities and coffee tables are quicker to clean when the items sitting on them are moved aside.

Put away anything valuable, fragile or personal, such as jewellery, important papers and breakable ornaments. Picking up loose cables and small items from the floor also means vacuuming and mopping can be done in one pass.

Tell us about any areas that need extra attention, such as the oven, shower screens or sliding doors. Knowing this before we arrive helps us plan the time.

Access, pets and products

Confirm how your cleaner will get in, whether that is a key, an access code or a time you will be home. Let us know if you have pets, an alarm system or a gate that needs to stay closed.

If you have a preference for cleaning products, or a surface that needs special care, such as timber floors or natural stone, mention it when you book.

On the day

Show your cleaner the rooms and spots that matter most to you. If you cannot be home, leave clear notes and make sure everything needed to access the property is ready.
